Rev. Gerard Maguiness

Rev Gerard Maguiness

Father Gerry, as he is popularly known, was ordained on the 4th July 1994 in his home Parish of Our Lady of Lourdes, East Kilbride. After serving in St. Colmcille's Rutherglen, he came to St. Ignatius in 1996 and admimnistered the Parish on Canon McGovern's retirement in July 1998 until the arrival in november of Monsignor Conway.

He was appointed as Diocesan Advisor on Religious Education for Schools and subsequently spent time as a curate in St. Monica's, Coatbridge before becoming Parish Priest in St. Edward's, Airdrie. He returned to St. Ignatius as Parish Priest in February 2012
